Hi,
I got appointment letter for Biometrics from USCIS. I already gave in 2007.
Why are they asking again? and I only got this, my husband and son didn't get it.
Right now I am on EAD, since last december(2009) I am not working, will there be any issues as I am the primary applicant.

I mean should it be only Software engr in the exp letter rather than Sr Software engr, since the labor says Software engr ?
What is the position mentioned in the LC for your previous job? IMHO, it does not matter what the title is. As long as the job description is the same, you should be OK.
I had "part time Oracle developer" in the LC but the letter I got just said "Oracle developer" and mentioned that is was part time (20 hrs/ wk). I don't think it is such a big deal.

Yes for H1B you are entitled to get Return ticket back to your home country if you are being laid off or fired. Last year my earlier employer offer me return ticket to home contry. They specified that we are offering as per the clause or law of H1B visa. Offcourse I didnt accept it but you cant get money for not accepting this return ticket offer.

I filed for my EAD last year along with 485 and the lawyer sent the application to Nebraska Service Center, however, the receipt notice I received was from Texas Service Center.
Now, for Q11 - Have you ever applied for EAD from USCIS? Which USCIS office, which office should I mention? NSC or TSC?

here are the visa numbers used in 2006 for EB2 and EB3.
EB-2: India(3,720), China(3,347), Canada(1,248)
EB-3 Skilled: Mexico(6,766), Korea(4,375), Philippines(4,114), Ecuador(3,747), Brazil(3,670), Poland(3,230), India(3,006), China(2,477), Pakistan(2,091)
Assuming there are atleast 300K Indians waiting for visa numbers in the EB2 + EB3 category (including dependents) and 6726 out of them were covered last year, we will have to wait for just another 44 years and 7 months to get an immigrant visa number. LOL
If everything goes well as planned atleast GC is assured for our children ( for some like me - grand children) .

Most states would have domicile requirements that require you to have resided in the state for x number of months/years.
It could be as little as 1 year.

USCIS will consider only your qualifications and experience only at the time of applying for labor against the jobs requirements. You dont have to update USCIS with your latest qualifications.

Aha I see ... yes she can stay in the US beyond the I-94 date as long as the extension application is pending. From the postings i can recollect that in case of a denial the unlawful presence starts from the decision date.

I believe, USCIS website was updated on Sep 21st 2009.
My Priority date is Jun 2006 and applied in EB3 category.
I got an email on Sep 22nd 2009 from USCIS saying "Document mailed to applicant". When I see online status, it is "Document production or Oath Ceremony".
I called twice USCIS to confirm it. But they are saying "According to online status the document was already sent to your current address".
I am in a situation to beleive it or not? to celebrate it or not.... :-( .....
And one more thing is "I got EAD before my marriage and I haven't added my wife to I485"?
If I get GC, how to add my wife to GC? is it possible? what is her status right now?

The updated Web site is organized according to categories.The categories are displayed as Topics, Forms, Resources, Laws, News, and About Us. The topics are categorized as follows: Adoption, Permanent Residence, Humanitarian, Citizenship, Members of the Military and Their Family, Family, Visit the U.S., Working in the U.S, and Genealogy. After clicking on a specific topic, I was provided helpful information and even more additional information was available through the links on the left of the screen.The advantage of categorizing the information by topic is that individuals are now able to familiarize themselves with the process from start to finish. There are other helpful links and tools within each specific topic.
Another key feature to the Web site is that there is a “where to start” link. Before, individuals could navigate throughout the Web site not knowing where to even begin their search on a narrow issue. Now, the “where to start link” will allow individuals to begin their immigration search by narrowing it down to their specific issue. For instance, there is a scroll-down available for individuals under the “where to start” link. Yes that�s a good suggestion. We need more people than whose GC is stuck. One issue is motivating them. I was almost shocked to see the indifference of many immigrants � some of them who went through the same process very recently. I came here almost 10 years ago as a student and many of my friends got GC�s/citizenship (they had their own hassles but now its over). When I talk to them what is going on now � they simply express surprise over how/why I didn�t get it even now and forget it. But I don�t feel bad to remind them again to visit this site or something else and do something (sending faxes /talking to their employers / contributing money/ whatever they can). My point is � don�t expect an immediate action from any, even friends � especially if this does not affect them; but don�t let this discourage you. Engage them in a discussion � most of them already know the terminology like retrogession/140/485/labor etc � remind them their own process and how difficult it was and how finally there is a systematic effort to do something about it. I am sure at least some people will respond favorably.
There is so much momentum right now; if we miss this � we know the consequences.
